Ok i might be just blind but i have been trying to find an air intake for my 97 SC300, but i cannot find one. so my questions are:
1.) Are there any manufactures that make short ram or cold air intakes for the 97 SC300.
2.) And if they don't, would the next possible thing to do be to modify A 98 SC300 or 98 GS300 to work on the 97? if this was the option i had to take, i was gonna try it with one of those cheap Short ram intakes for the 98's on Ebay.
Thanks for you input.
I ordered my Injen 2 and half month ago, and just arrived last week!
and guess what, they are made for pre 97 SC3!!!
But I figure if I waited 2 and half month for it, it might take another 5 month to get the right one, or if they even have the right one.
So I modified it to fit on my SC3! Lucky my butt dyno tells me I gained a little.

Hey do you mind posting a picture on how you modified it. That would help me out alot to give me an idea how to do it myself. I really wish some company would just take the move in filling that void in the SC300 97 year and make a air intake.
i have seen some dyno results that show there is no gain in modifying the intake.
There was no gain with or without a new filter
loss of HP/KW when a pod filter was stuck straight before the turbo inlet or straight off the inlet for a sc400
The only gains that are made are the BFI mod
If you want you could have a TRD, TOMS, K&N filter for looks and are reuseable for the STD air filter box
wow that looks nice. thanks for the pictures Blacksc400,it gives me a better idea of what i have to do.
and to v8soarer91, this is possible it does nothing, but i am looking for the best possible solution to these gas prices, and i love hearing the sound created by the after market intakes. Also i think it makes the engine look nice and unique from the stock look. Being in college, doesnt leave me with alot of money to put in to my car, so i am trying my best to take car of my baby and give it gifts whenever i can.
I mountd mine up to the stock air box with a drop in as the stock air box collects air from under the bumper instead of the engine bay. It basically just deletes the resonator and looks cool. I didn't notice any gains/losses and I can't really tell if it sounds different either.

Now that is some expensive plumbing!
