I know this is a very noob topic, but still.

Tonight it was raining so I went out with a couple friends,

We went to a very large parking lot with just a few light poles, no curbs and went at it and I can completely say I fell in love with the car again... The long wheelbase makes it so much easier, and I can only imagine it looks beautiful sliding around. Due to the torque of the car, it was so easy to kick it sideways and hold it forever.

My question is however, although it's wet, how much damage, if any, am I doing to the transmission by doing this?... I just kept it in second gear the whole time...

Let me know, and I apologize for being an idiot with the SC.. I just love that it can cruise forever in comfort, and when you need to, you can have fun with it.

I have an open diff so it's pretty much the easiest way.

 

i tried doing this on snow surface with traction off (of course) for like 5 mins. I spun around and the car cannot move forward (tires not even spinning) despite being in D. So I turned off the car and start it again....and back to normal. Don't know what's wrong but haven't done that since. Maybe it's her way of telling me she likes a gentle lover lol

 

I ruined my auto tranny doing some drifting at an event, put it in 1st with the trac off and let her buck, got sideways very easy. My tranny is done now though. So I am doing a manual conversion now.

I have an OPEN diff BTW, no LSD.

I need some more opinions. Perhaps something positive as long as its the truth, because I'd hate to stop having to slide the car, it's so fun!

 

Id say start saving for a manual swap, because its going to go sometime soon if you beat on it allot. Or get a good TC for the Auto. Plus sliding or drifting an auto is not half as fun as a manual.

get a good trans cooler that will propbably help a little, i'd imagine it builds up alot of heat doing that.
