Default SC300 intake?

I am keeping my SC3 pretty much stock and I was curious what most N/A people were using for intakes... were they getting theirs from MK3 Supras, buying short ram intakes, or just replacing the stock filter for the average K&N filter? Just curious. thanks and if you can post pictures it would be great... if you have any websites to refer then let me know as well.

if you want a short ram, buy a maf adaptor from ebay and and get a cone filter, or when you remove your stock airbox, you could also remove the plastic tunnel router that went into the stock airbox, and route a cold air intake very easily, the k&n panel filters give absolutely no sound or performance, and really are a waste of money, and the oils also found in their filters are bad for the maf's supposovely

I was browsing MVPmotorsports... is it worth buying an Injen short ram or the Power Enterprise Air Impulse II intake kit?

for the price absolutely not, all an intake does is make sound, if you routed a cold air like i said, you could get the sound and performance

ok thanks... after looking at some stuff... would it be any advantage to reroute the intake with a "cone" K&N filter?

Do a search for the BFI. Its been said a number of times that the BFI actually nets you a tiny bit of gain. Its also pretty easy to do and cheap.

just get any kind of cone filter, they will all give the same performance, but do what you desire

newbie... i used to be the same way, basically when you give it a decent amount of gas, you will hear the nice deep sound of the intake sucking, go to youtube.com and type in cold or short ram intake and you will hear how it sounds, also i would suggest removing the rear mufflers, that also gives the sc300 a great sound for under 100 bucks if you go to a shop

i just stuck to the BFI mod since I already have a K&N filter... i wasnt really wanting any of the ricer kid desires of an intake, i just wanted to know what was best... now I just need to work on a DIY vent duct from the bumper... badges went from gold to gunmetal as well

what do you mean by removing the rear mufflers? do you mean replacing them with an aftermarket one?

I think he means just straight pipe to the tip with only the resonators. Or just remove the resonators and keep the rear mufflers.

yeah not too sure of all that haha... there is a place me and my buddies go to called "Quick-O's- Home of the Big Pipe." It's a exhaust shop for muscle cars and they do on the spot drive in exhaust jobs... i've been told to get 2.5" or 2.5", but I don't know yet. Exhaust is least of my worries at the moment... I am needing new pads and rotors & thinking I need new belts
