Thanks for the info. Torqued just my front 17mm up and torsional twist induced clunking from front and rear has ceased.

bump for an awesome thread. experienced major clunking during hard breaking. tightened just one of the 17mm bolts to 94 lbs (got a couple turns on there), got rid of the clunking noise completely. i thought i had to replace the LCA (which I eventually will get around to) but its great to get rid of the clunking noise nonetheless.

I set my torque wrench for 94 lbs and laid down beside the car and couldn't believe how many turns I got before the wrench clicked.
Sadly, I did not notice any differences. Still have some minor clunking issues.
So I'll look into bushings next.
On another note, my friend and I test drove an SC300 today for him. It had 183k miles on it and I believe it was a 94 model. Anyway, the engine was trash, but I could not believe how tight and solid that car was. No clunking at all. Very nice.

WOW...Imma hop on this as soon as I get some time.. I sure hope it's my fix, cause i was thinking it's my engine mount or lca bushing that was causing this problem...But regardless i think i needa replace my engine mount..=(

Guys don't forget that this is actually a MAINTENANCE procedure. In the Service manual, it's put into the maintenance section along with the other things that need to be torqued down. So I'm guessing this should be down 1-2 every two years? Anyways, for the 19mm bolts... I'd suggest torquing those too if possible. Just trace back to where the rear mount on the lower control arm is and you'll find the three bolts per side.

Thx...interesting how THAT has to be a maintenance procedure...something like that isnt what i consider a maintenance thing....

I just realize as i was browsing through some treads. I think I bought my coilover from one of your buddies you chill with at Supra meets. He lives in SF and drives a Red MKIV TT. He's on KW's now and sold me Tein SS that he had before. He mention about you since I owned a SC..
