Since I have the motor out of the car, I thought I'd show an inexpensive way to block off the EGR.
There's a port from #6 cylinder exhaust to the EGR cooler located on the back of the head. I removed the EGR cooler plate and installed a 9/16" expansion plug into the hole. The plug costs about 25 cents.
Once the EGR is blocked off at the head, all other EGR hardware can be removed.
Im on mobile but its something about keeping old used gases and recirculating them I forgot, but when you delete your egr it makes your motor run a bit cleaner.
Something along those lines lol
exhaust gas recirculating system. its more for emissions and good environment reasons but some vehicles suffer from the removal of it and others benifit. i have found no proven/written facts on the benifits but i usually remove em on all the motors i build/ have bc it builds a crap load of carbons in my intake mani. with some ecu's you may end up hurting the engine but most of my cars gets a retune anyways. not all cars have egr valves btw.
some of you guys may get major tickets for removing the egr system also so be careful. it takes a trained eye to search for the egr in cars but its not really rocket science if you see some ghetto block off plates and can read the sticker on the hood that indicates your car has a egr valve
