Default First Mods?

There's a better chance that I just suck at the search option... [See my introduction in the "New to here!" thread...] but I couldn't find any SC300 specific thread on what to modify first. After all my scheduled maintenance is finished, where would you start your mods? Or where did you? Biggest power gains? Oh, and since I figure someone will say exhaust... What's the loudest?

Cool

I am guessing it is a stock 300? Turbos are always good. You could do an engie swap, 1jz-gte or 2jz-gte. Exhaust and intake are always good.

my first mod was coilovers and rims at almost the same time, then i dropped a 1jz but i bought the 1jz before rims and coilovers so you could say that was the first true mods. but for any normal person id say wheels, coilovers, intake, exhaust.

I assume, I am not sure, but I think I'd like to just turbo it. I KNOW there has to be some place that details what that involves costs all that great jazz, I just haven't found it yet. Also, I am not saying this sarcastically, but I am honestly curious, why would you drop a 1JZ in there if there's already a 2JZ? Can anyone point me in the right direction for the Turbo answers and the 1JZ answers?

My first mod was Coilovers and polyurathen bushings all around.

sc400s already have a good amount of power to begain with, but the thing felt like a boat on the turns...

Tighten that mother down to the road, now im gripping like a ****, Handling FIRST then brakes THEN power , then make it look nice. thats always always the way i go

If you have any questions about where to pick up some nice parts PM me, i can hook you up with a bunch of really great sites.

turbo your 2jz there are plenty of high hp na-t's not to say the 1j is a bad option because its no ...its great ....it all depends on how much you are willing to spend and what power youre looking to have..

just my 2 cents

Everyone has different reasons on each item, i went with a 1jz because i will be drifting the car. if i did na-t the intake would go right over the hotside of the turbo which would be bad for drifting even if you heat wrapped it thats my opinion and im sticking with it =).

I have yet to do any power mods on my car...I went with cosmetics first...(I'm a ricer, deal with it...) haha

I got wheels first, then coilovers and exhaust at the same time.

Decide what you want to use the car for and desired HP goal. Then set out your finances to buy once. Instead of making several little upgrades that may be useless in the future. I.E. header and intake if your going turbo anyway.

Good luck...

I went with the boosted NA option. Very happy with the results.

If you don't mind sending me a PM with the details on your setup, I'd appreciate it greatly. I am learning all I can at the moment before I start to make decisions.
