New SC400 owner.
Hi, Ive been lurking here for a couple of months now and finally decided to get a SC400 yesterday. I paid 8995 for it. Its a 1992 with 92300k miles on it. The inside is near brand new without any tears. Everything is all original except for the rims on it, which I dont really care for. I figured Id sign up and be part of the community as I modify it and all. I dont know how to post pictures, but I have some up on my Myspace page if anyone cares to see. Thanks

You can upload photos to photobucket (a free online picture storage library). From there, you simply have to run IMG tag on either side of the link, and they will show up in your post.
It sounds like you got a very nice deal. For a car that is less than half way to expiration, $8k is a nice price for sure.

I bought my SC4 (for around $8 w/ 130k) this last summer and just been trying to keep it clean with some minor mods and maintenance so far. I love my SC, such a great car. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine. Unfortunately, I purchased it from a dealership, which turned out that it was in need of major maintenance that costed me $1850 (all my wheel money I had saved up) soon after I got it so I will never be buying another car from a dealership. I think I'm going through Craigslist (the classifieds) for now on. There's usually some very fair and good deals on there.

Yea, I got mine from a used dealer. I had been watching it for about a month, and the guy did a bunch of work on and showed me recipts from a Lexus dealership. He seemed trustworthy to me, but we shall see. From the recipts he showed me he put about 3500 into it, fixing the gauge clusters and all and new rotors and stuff. I love driving it so far, although I do miss driving stick. The inside is what got me though. Its tan interior and has 1 tiny rip on the driver side door near the window. The back seats look as though nobody has ever sat in them. I was impressed. They only real problems I have with it is that the casette deck plays really fuzzy when I tried to use the adapter to play my iPod and the 12 disc CD changer is stuck. And it came with some cheap floor mats that were just cut out of tan fabric. I work a 3rd shift, so Ill try to get some pictures of the interior up in the morning after work. Oh and I forgot to mention that it still has the car phone in it, which I thought was hilarious.

Low mileage for the is for sure but I still think its little low. I got this 1995 with 97 body kit with black on black for about the price you paid for of a major maintenance. It has 228k but I am going to swap out the engine anyway.

Here is how it looks like with 19s and Coil Overs

I think the price was a little high but if the price was right for you then don't think about it. there is always a better deal after you purchase something.
I paid $5800 for my 93 SC400. I had to replace the powersteering pump and rack 8 months later.
Enjoy your car and mod it to fit you.

Im loving it. Its a little bit bigger than what Im used to handling but Im starting to get the hang of it. I find myself looking for reasons to go out and drive now where as with the Celica I would avoid it lol.

It's not cordless, it has that spiral wire. You look cool when you use that in your car back in the day.
