What cat do you have? Do you have SC300 or SC400?
If you have the SC300 the S-AFC should give you around 25 - 30 rwhp (rear wheel horse power). I dynoed 197 rwhp peak. Someone else (I won't mention who) dynoed 207 rwhp peak with the S-AFC. Very Impressive!
PS. Just found out recently that there is a problem with the S-AFC. The ECU rethards the timeing with the S-AFC so unless you reset the ECU once a month you'll have around 165 rwhp.
i was just going to buy the s-afc yesterday for 300 too! i have to reset the ecu every month??? is this easy? or just disconnect my neg. battery for 15 minutes??? also, do i have to pay someone to program the thing?

No, it's not that hard. All you have to do is pull out two fuses that control your EFI system. Right Clint? Hello, paging sc300tt.

I don't know about the results on the SC400 but yes, you can get it, and it's little better than re-programmed ECU; however, re-programmed ECU will also do timing, higher rev limits, etc etc.
I called apexi and asked one of the techs about their expected results on the sc400 properly tuned on a dyno and they said about 4 hp. They didn't believe me when I told him of a sc300 that got 25rwhp.

Heh. He doesn't have to. After all, it's not like the test the AFC in every car. It's true, for most engines you won't get such a gain. For some reasons with the 2JZ-GE motor you get such a big gain. I don't know any other cars that gained soo much out of the AFC. I am not the only one who got such a big gain. Infact someone off clublexus did the same thing, at the same place (APG Performance) and dynoed 207 rwhp peak. Oliver, owner of N/A Supra gained 29 rwhp. When I heard about how much Oliver gained I was supprised just as most people because I didn't know it would be possible to gain so much with AFC.
mine is an sc400, do you think i should go with it and see how it preforms, also what kind of a setup should i do with it, or is there a better way to spend the $$ and get more hp for a sc400
Originally posted by do-luck sc so could i expect such a similar gain of 20+ with my SC400???
Sorry guys, I just don't know the effects of S-AFC on the SC400. You guys have a V8 while I have the I6 engine. I think you might the same result as most cars, 4 rwhp? I don't know really. I just know what I got in my car.
I would say try it. It's $309 bucks plus the installation and dyno tuning. S-AFC tunes the air and fuel ratio so this won't give you such a big power increase as the ECU upgrade since ECU does timing, does something simmilar to S-AFC (but not as well as well tuned S-AFC), increases the red line and other stuff.
