Post Parts needed for auto-manual conversion

Does anybody know all the parts that will be needed for an auto-manual conversion.

These are the parts that I know I will need so far:

Cast alloy Bellhousing and Adjustable pivot ball-
Sintered bronze Pilot Brush-
Steel Clutch fork and Clip-
Thrust Race and Carrier-
Adjustable Push Rod- (slave to fork)-
Slave Cylinder(choose right side or left side)-
Flywheel-made in steel-
Clutch Plate-
Pressure Plate-
Speedo Cable to suit your vehicle-
Tailshaft Yoke to suit your preffered unit-
Fully reconditioned Toyota Supra 5-Speed-

Now I know that I'll need pedal assembly, but what else? anyone? Thanks.......Adam

so adam do u think that this conversion is going to be possible? I mean it is going to take alot of work. Are you keeping the V8? isn't it cheaper to try and get a supra engine with the trnsmission? are you getting a 6 speed or what? I miss driving stick and it would be awesome to have a stickshift again. Anyways let me know how this conversion goes. good luck man. If it works you are the man!

I know for a fact that it will work. Its just the $$$ that's a problem. $600 for the conversion kit. $1000 for the trans. The conversion kit is for a 5-speed only. The supra engine doesn't fit in the sc4 at all from what I've heard. The labor cost is what will decide on whether or not I can afford this. I probably can't because I won't be able to spend $1500 on the labor. If I can get it for less than that.....its a different story. I bought the car for the V8.....and that's that....no engine swap.

Just a thought, won't the ECU from the SC4 have a problem with a manual tranny? I read somewhere (I think UZZ32's site) that someone tried to convert it to a manual tranny but they had problems with the ECU.

But if the ECU from an auto SC300 is the same as an ECU from a manual tranny then there might not be any problems.

wow man I always thought it would cost over 5 g's man. but I guess I now have a project lined up for the summer coming up. anyways dude you know how great it would be to have a manual sc 400?. I think the sc 400 will improve a hell of a lot more thanks to a manual tranny. I think the whole idea behind not putting a manual tranny was the whole idea of putting a manual on a lexus and they probably thought it wasn't normal to put a manual tranny. Plus I heard it burns to much tire and all that. Anyways let me know how it all goes. keep in touch

I think you're supposed to take the Supra ECU as well for the tranny

yes there will be ecu problems, but I think he claims that the guy who did his chip (WEapon R right?) , can get around them somehow.

Well good luck, keep us posted.

maybe these guys can help....

don't think you're gonna need the supra ecu since you won't need an ecu to control the transmission (it's a manual, right?).

My buddy has a 1993 SC300 with right-front collision damage that he's selling for $3800. You get the whole car and as far as I know the engine and tranny are intact. The car only needs a new front end, air bags, windshield is cracked, and radiator/rt-headlight/hood is kind of smashed in. The best part is the car only has 19,000 miles on it. If you want I can check to see if it's still available.

K, just checked and he already sold it, but I just noticed this thread is a little dated so you've probably resolved your parts issue by now anyway...hopefully.

Adam keep us updated.. I will definitely do that if it can work (and the parts are actually available). The ECU shouldn't have anything to do with it, the signals for the tranny are all outgoing or line-voltage tripped, so nothing there shouldn't cause much of a problem. Hell, you could just make a space or hole and bolt that thing harness and all to the underbody, whatever signals are there should be easy enough to decipher.
