Default Firestone or Bridgestone?

I am looking at buying new tires for my 400. I use 235 now but think I'm going back to stock 225. I want to stay in the Firestone/Bridgestone family because I can get 55% off these tires (recall). I have looked at both the Potenza RE910, Turanza and the Firehawk SZ50 EP. Since I live in Canada I need something that wil work in the snow as well. Any suggestions? I larger tires will fit 16's will get on the car and not affect the clearance let me know - I like wide tires.

You can check up TireRack.com. They sell both brands and have the most informative knoewledgebase on tires I've seen. They also have all tires tested and rated. I would personally stick with the Bridgestones myself. If you're after very good snow traction The Bridgestone Blizzacks (LM-22 UNI-T) would be the way to go.

I have the Firehawks S50's and they kick *** in the rain and on dry pavement. I was able to get over 25K miles on my last set and I pushed them hard.

I've tried a lot of tires before (even been sponsored by Dunlop) and the Firehawks, by far, have been the best, and now thats all I run anymore.

Hope it helps,
Keith

The SZ50 is a bargain;they use Bridgstone's technology, and make the tires over here. Can't say how they perform in the snow however, pretty much need two sets of tires,as the Blizzaks will tend to wear out fast driving on them all year around.
You need a Firestone charge card!

Firestone=American made for the most part. Think of 80's american cars then look at those tires real close and you'll see a buick with paint flaking off in the rubber. Bridgestone=Japanese. Might be the same company, but it makes all the difference in the world. Pole Position SO-3's are the best tires money can buy.
