Well I went to the track tonight. When I was stock I got a 15.9. With my borlas(which add only about 4 hp for now) and my ECU upgrade......I got a 15.0. I'm so happy I could.....well you get the point. I called up Chris from lexussc400.com after I got that and everyone at his shop was jumpin with joy. Those poor guys don't have a track anywhere near them. I am trying to scan my timeslips right now but my scanning program doesn't work so I'll just take a picture of them with my digital camera later this weekend. My 60 foot time was 2.248 and 1/8 mile was 9.696 and my 1/4 was 15.049 at 91.91 mph. Now you know what the funny thing about this is....my car isn't even close to breathin yet. I still have a stock filter. Once I get my cold air intake in(I ordered it today) everything will kick in........ignition timing upgrade will make even more of a difference....borlas will be put to use....plus lots of cold air...yipee! I think I can get a 14.6-14.7 with the cold air intake. We'll see in a few weeks. But man I love this new ignition timing upgrade...later guys........Adam
What's up Adam? Enjoyed our converation the other day. Did you and Trumendz every have a "friendly" race yesterday?
I'm still quite surprise of the first 15.9 you got. That's the slowest time I've every seen on a SC4 any were. Was your car tuned (properly plugs, filter, wires, tranny serviced, cap, tires, etc) at the time of the first run? Was the car running cool or hot? Did you have the right launching tech? I would think your car if in great shape would have run a 14.9-15.4 stock(each car differs)...
That being said a .9 off your best is still impressive!
Ikon....I think our car is supposed to run a 15.3 to 15.4 stock. Never heard of anything under that. My car had a tune-up at 60k miles and it has 85k now. I let the car cool off for like 20 minutes at a time with the hood open and I always kept the heat on high so it would escape the engine before each run. And about trudremz...I'm run against him a good many times before. It's always very close...but I usually have a car length on him by 100 mph. He just has a K&N filter on his car.
I've been reading about the SC4 since it came out.(as well as other cars.. ) I've read in many sources(mags, tv, web sites data, etc..) that the times are 14.9 - 15.4.. I guess it varies from car to car and condition to condition or the area tested...
Have you raced Trudremz since you got your ecu upgraded? This will tell where you are really.. You should go from 1 car to at least say 4 cars with the .9 improvements.
I will run against Trudremz next time he is in town. He lives 45 minutes away in auburn where he goes to school . Are you sure the times you are talking about aren't the ones for the 97 models? Later, Adam
