Default Cold Air Intake

Last week I drove down to Monrovia to Luxury Motorworks. Steve installed the CIA for the first time on my is 250. It got about 7 hp on the dyno which was ok but did really good on the extra torque. It sounds better know and is getting a little better gas millage. Pictures to come soon. I really enjoyed my time with them.

I have an intake coming in soon and I believe they are K&N filters.

Can you scan the dyno sheets from the before and after pulls? I'd really like to see...

I've heard that a CIA will mess with the fuel/air ratio and can be bad for the car during long drives. I dont really know too much about car upgrades, can anyone help me out here? Is this true? If so, can anything be done to prevent it?

Thanks for the info, as I drive the 250 as well. Is this intake a true cold air intake by sucking air from the wheel well, or outside the engine compartment? Or is this sucking hot air from the engine compartment?
thanks

I called Luxury MotorWorks and ask for Pictures to post. Steve Larkin is Lexus Certified Master Technician who work on it. He has all the specs on the dyno for my car . He can be reached at 626 358 2165.

Same way that replacing a dirty air filter with a clean one increases mileage: less of the engine's power is used to pump air through the motor, leaving more to spin the wheels. So for the same amount of acceleration, you burn less gas. Unfortunately, in the real world, the savings are usually pretty negligible.

Are they making an intake for the 350 or is anyone currently making one yet?

Bichon do you know if a CAI will void any of the warranty? How bout a exhaust other than the factory HKS? Thanks

make it was. he is no longer a lexus master tech once he left lexus, i believe

and yes, i wonder if the ecu was reset between the two dyno runs? that would be important

and shaolin, intake technically can help on gas mileage. yes it's more air, but no it's not more gas. the injectors still put in the same amount of gas i believe?
