good buy
thinking about buying a lexus sc 400 that has high miles, 190,000, but is in good condition. it cost 2600 and needs new catalytic converters. It is in over all good condition, tranny is shifts well and engine is strong. Was wondering what you lexus folks think>???? is this a good buy??? Also do these engine run for a long time...???

okay, thanks guys. I currently drive a land rover so I know very little about how long lexus' last, but from what I have heard they last along time. I have a buddy who use to drive one of these and loved it. Anyways, thanks guys.
The engines are great, but be carfull when checking the car for faults to do with the engine. Time the amount of seconds it takes to shift in each gear when not moving. If it takes more than a second or two, than that could lead to expansive transmission issues within a few thousand, or hundred km.

i agree. make sure you really check it out. search the forums for common problems that occur with this car and see if its will be a problem in the future cuz i keep seeing new owners post and complain that they bought it and common stuff like ps is leaking, windows not working, car shuts off, etc will cost them more $ that they werent anticipating.
