Would brand new hinges make a difference on the door felling so heavy when you open and close it?

Although i think that you really shouldn't mess with the crash bar too much, i admire the fact you're not just taking what people say and accepting it.

The only way to improve is by asking questions critically.

Perhaps there's a donor car you can snag some lighter crash bars from, maybe the newer SC's have a lighter door / crash bar mechanism... that way you'd keep the stock safety and still get some weight savings...

Keep pluggin' man!

When we first bought our '92 SC300 (in '92) the heavy doors, the cool hinge, and the effort it took to open and close them were all "cool features". Still are for some of us....

It is your car; do what you want but stay safe....
