Default 97 tail light modification question

I'm thinking about picking up a set of 97 tails, but before I do I wanted to know something kinda specific. On the lenses, are the silver lines cast in or can they be de-lined or removed? If someone has removed the silver lines or blacked them out could you post up a picture for reference?
I searched a ton but couldn't find anything on this specifically.

Look for it in Calitri's build thread. That's where I found it when I did mine.

Search for "Hoebag Taillights"
It's been done by a few members, getting the outer lens off 97 tails is a bit tricky though and is best done on brand new tails as the glue is easier to seperate around the key hole before its been out in the sun and starts to harden. Otherwise they typically tend to break around the keyhole as the plastic gets more and more brittle over time.

It's on my mod list for this fall as well.

I was talking more about the triple bars in the lens, I can't seem to find any solutions for them. They really show on the clear corners lights and the hoebag, but not in stock form.

It's part of the mold. It's embossed on the inside part of the lens. Like I always tell people who wants to decline lenses, I've tried it before, and no matter how good you are, or what you do, it'll never ever look good in the end, because the plastic was molded that way, and the molecules are already arranged in that certain way so in the end, the lines will still show no matter what. If you've tried sanding off stamped info on a steel, it's the same way.

Thanks for chiming in Kingphilip. Unless there's a way to re color the lines, I'll probably just hack up and splice the earlier tail lights.

What about the triple lines? They look gold to me. Maybe it's like a glare or something.

It's probably because the outer lens is slightly pink. I'm sure there's a scientific explanation to it but I forgot all my physics.

So If I put like a slightly bluish tint it would solve that issue? (like navy blue, not electric blue)

No the lines would still be visible and the tails would look purplish.
