Default A Few Questions (1JZ, Tuning, ....)

I have a few questions, most of which I have tried searching for but have come up empty handed.

1) Name of 1JZ Trans
2) What the 1JZ motor can take when referring to boost (psi)
3) What a stock sc300 (92') rear end can handle (tq/hp)

Haha, good thread.

I hate when people say search as I think there should be at least someone to point you in the right direction.

The Forced Induction/Engine Thread right above ^^^^ has like 10 topics on the 1JZ on the first page.

1. R154=manual
2. Boost(psi) is always different depending what turbo(s) are installed. If you are talking about a stock 1jz, which I am assuming you are, people say 16ish because of the ceramic turbos.
3. I dont think that many people are running into differential problems regarding reliability powerwise, it is more of the question of traction.

Sorry about that. I'm a long time member of H-T and have just become to accustomed to their layout. When I searched "1JZ" "1JZGTE" "Differential" "Transmission" "Tranny" and so on, nothing came up. Thanks for the answeres to my simplistic questions.

When I was referring to boost #'s, it would be on a 1jz with gt35r. Just curious what boost levels seem to make em' POP.

The 1J blocks are just as strong as the 2J as far as I know. Check on www.supraforums.com they have a lot more 1jz info.

The R154 is the 1J manual tranny. I wish Toyota would have put that R154 in the NA 5speed SC's and MKIV's..
