Heating System Problem...help

Heating System Problem...help
well here it is;.. its a bit strange but i ll se if possibly someone else on here had the same problem...
when my car is warmed up and i crank up the heat--cold air comes out no matter how long i run the car or drive....BUT... when i accelerate faster nd take off quite quickly heater starts working and hot air comes out for about a minute or so. ,,then back to colder air ..till i take off faster again....
is my heater core going? or what would it be?
my rad is brand new(3 months old)
oh btw-the reserv. box for antifreeze got a small leak. but i dont think that would make a big diffr.

I also have that problem,I can let the car set and run for over 10 to 15 minutes and it never gets hot,but when i drive the air comming from vents turns warm then it seems to work ok,,but it take me driving to get this to warm up..I will be waiting for an answer also

I had a problem somewhat like urs, mine was always cold no matter what i took it into lexus and they found out that there is a vent door that switches back and forth for either cold air or hot air. The sensor/switch was out on mine and the door was closed on the heat vent. I believe it was $400 for the finally price including labor here. Im not sure why urs is letting you get heat when moving maybe heat directly from the motor moving into the cab but other then that im not sure. Have lexus run the computer on it and see what they come up with.

i will def. try adding anitfreeze once i pick up my car from the body shop( was hit on the parking lot - somneone is paying for my bumper repaint)
