Sc400...1996
SC400 1996....54,XXX miles $13,000$ black with tan leather looks to be in great shape...is this a good deal...also what will the insurance be like on it...since it is a sports car, i have never had any tickets and i am 19(i know it might be a hard ?in to anwser)
#1- too much $$ imo even with the low mileage.
#2- Perhaps you should visit an insurance website, since no one here can give you a quote on what it will be to insure YOU.

My 3000gt Vr4, my Neon SRT4, and my Camaro Z28 have all been cheaper to insure than my SC300. Why....the parts to fix it are...
1. Way hard to find
2. Way freaking expensive
3. Body labor is premium on Lexus, Merc, and BMW.
This was the answer I got from my insurance agent.
Price is a bit high for the year, even with the low miles. Insurance will be high since you are 19 and assumming you are financing. It just the disadvantage of being young. If you can get the car into your parents name and on their insurance you should get off a bit cheaper. But not everyone wants to do that. I would pass on this one and keep looking, for that amount of money you can get a newer year.
that's not that bad of a deal. Look at the early sc300's with low mileage, they are around 6000 bux. This is a 96, w/ 54. That's pretty good for 13,000 keeping in mind that u are buying a car that was once 50,000 dollars (i think). 54,000 is probably 1/4 of the car's life, as a seller 13,000 is where i would start it at and probably sell for 11000-12000. Not a bad deal imo. And 98 sc400's go for WAY more than 13,000. I have a 98 sc400 bought april 06 w/ 26,000 miles, mine and as well as many other 98+ sc400's are 18-22 w/ very low mileage. KBB value is still pretty low, from 0-54,000 miles, the price does not change. But imo, id rather get a 97 sc300 than a 96 sc400, just cause they look better.
Insurance, GL bro. When i was 16, i was insured under my dad's old 1989 toyota cressida, and i was paying 700-800 a year. And that's pretty good compared to some of my friends. 1 of my friends is paying 600-700 a month for his rsx types. For a 96 sc400, and if u and ur parents have a really good record, id say 1000 a year would be more than reasonable. GL man, hope everything works out.
