Default What is wrong with my SC400? =(

I had driven my cousins and other family members SC400, and let me tell you, it is quite torquey. Everytime I jump in my car and step on the gas, it is not as "quick" as theirs. I had replaced the sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, fuel filter, oil change done, air filter, and still, I do not really feel that "kick" in my car. Is there something I should do to feel that kick? My car picks up speed slower than other SC4 and it is not as good in throttle response as the other SC4. Any reason why? Any ideas will help. What should I do? I got deleted resonator and 14829 if that helps.

Actually, mine is a little lower than theirs. Mine just hit 170k this week, and their is around 188k. I did Seafoam, it helped just a littttttttttttle to the slightest, but no cigar. TB+waterpump maybe? Tranny flush, diff flush?

You know we are enthusiasts just like you - not certified Lexus mechanics

Default Maybe your cat converter?

so, did you figured out your problem? I have same sc4 with 170k, and have a similar problem as yours. My mechanic said it's the clogged Cats, but Other members are saying it's the ignition coil. can you let me know how you've fix your problem??? thanks,]

Glowing cats doesnt necessarily indicate that your cats are bad. What that means is that your engine is misfiring causing exhaust temperatures to get very high and then your cats pay the price, I would suggest looking over the ignition system and make sure your getting the correct distribution of fuel. I dont really know too much about the 1UZ motors yet but maybe the ignition coil is more in the direction of where your problem could lie.
