Default SC4 Exhaust Upgrade Week

Took her in for some exhaust work this weekend and I think it turned out great. Picked up a Magnaflow 2.25" X-pipe and two matching double-offset stainless Magnaflow cans (18"). Pipes are crush bent 2.25", but using as few bends as possible (no resonators).

My impressions. These 18" universal cans sound sooo much better than the Street-Series 14829 (sorry guys). The sound is a deep and muffled. It definitely doesn't sound like anything made by Nissan. Revving up and down the rpm range is smooth without any pops and crackles. 1500 rpm is the resonance sweetspot, but it's far from being called droning. It sounds like how a Lexus V8 cruiser should. Deep and authoritative.

I'll get a vid/sound clip up soon. But for now check out the pics.

* work was done at Valley Muffler in SoCal, West Covina. Ask for Louie or Tony

X-pipe after the cats. Bends are all a lot smoother than they look in the pics

Side shot. Mufflers are the perfect length and tuck well under the 97+ rear skirt

Direct rear. Double-offset cans (using same old L-Tuned style tips) make for easier install and better looks IMO.

Now throw some headers on and delete your two smaller cats at the down pipes, and your SC4 will really fly......
