Default Spring Shine

Wow. What a lot of work that was. Took my 8 hours today but the result looks great. I really wish i'd taken a before picture becuase being outside all winter and subjected to all the sand and sand on the roads up here in canada over the winter my paint was looking bad. Dull, swirl marks, no wax left on her. Just not pretty at all. I spent today making it look like it should again.
-Washed the car
-cleaned the wheels
-Removed old wax (megiers step 1)
-washed it again
-used megiers clay bar kit to pick up all the scum on the paint
-washed it again
-touched up all the battle scars from rock chips over the last 6 months
-used PlaticX and rubbing compound to clear up the head lights
-used rubbing compound to take out all the scratchs
-washed again
-used polishing compound on the whole car, 3 passes, took out all the swirls.
-cleaned it yet again
-waxed with Megiers NXT tech wax.
-cleaned up all the excess wax

Long day. My right arm feels like its going to fall off. The result is well worth it though. NXT is great but I definatly went WAY too heavy with it. took like 5 towels to take off the excess and buff it up.

Here are a couple pics of the end result. Windows still need to be done. My SC4 should look pretty good as soon as the Tein SS's and wheels go on this spring. Exaust needs at least new tips right away too. Pics could be better. They are just off my phone my girlfreind has my camera right now.

Looks great, I love the way my car looks after a good cleaning and waxing too. But of course, some bird always manages to get something on it as soon as I turn my back.

did mine a few weeks ago...its nice cause of all the wax work today, you'll get the fresh waxed look with just washing it...at least for a couple months

your phone camera rocks...mine blows...I don't even bother with it. Post some pics with the camera when you get it back

Looks great... : : You might save a lot of time if you just skip all of the repeated washing and drying since it wasn't nessary... Personally, I just wash the car once with dawn to remove old wax, then rinse and clay bar....Followed by a good polishing with a rotary buffer and top it off with a good sealant...The car looks great, 8 hours very well spent indeed...

Yea. Clear bra is a must on a black car. I read the other day about some guy that didn't belive in them because he could get the bumper painted for the same money. I guess he can get it painted every year. I paid once and will be good for life.
