Where can I get it?
Does it fit right into the filter housing?
Is it better?

Thanks,

If you mean the panel filter you can get it at any little cheesy automotive store. You know the ones where all the riceboys get their altezza lights and stickers. But anyway back to the filter. There is a plastic "cage" that goes onto the filter, and then it goes right into the stock airbox. When I put mine in I felt a very very slight increase power. It's not really worth it for power, but you never have to buy another filter, all you have to do is clean it.

Default Go conical with MAF

Get rid of the entire restrictive stock airbox and replace with an MAF adapter plate and conical filter. Get a true increase in power

Slick Lex,

That's what I am thinking about. Never have to buy another filter, just clean it

Where can I buy it on line?

933005spd,

I can't/don't want to do any mod to the car right now. Just spent too much on maintenance on my cars recently. wanted to save on the filter cost if it is feasable

What's an MAF adapter plate? Does it come with the K&N cone filter kit for our cars? Or do I have to buy it seperately? How much is the MAF adapter and where can I get one?

MAF sensor adaptor is not that expensive.. ranging anywhere from 24 to 30. Plus a cone style filter with out the air box is good, but not that mojor of an increase. especially during hot days, yoru basically sucking in hot air. You either need a heat shield box, i think someone from the SC is selling. or buy something like a REACTIVE HEAT SHIELD FILTER. That's the one i got, it does help someone, better then just a regualr cone. I do feel the engine sound alot meaner, and a slight increase in HP, like i guess 2-4.

Hey,

What size cone filter do we need? What length and diameter. I'm getting ready to buy the adaptor, but need a size for the filter. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Keith

Smile VQT what's up?

K&N are great IMO... HKS sells panel filters too. check out this link "howiedoit"

On some cars cone filters have gotten up to 16hp.. example our last C5 Vette. Most cars get up to 8hp at its highest point in the hp curve...

dont worry about the filter size,, any one cone will mostly likely fit. there is enough room in there.
