Default how to take windshield wiper off

I hope this is not a dumb question, but I just can't take the windshield wipers off the stem of my 2012 RX 350. I wanted to take them off so I could replace the wiper blade. Nowhere could I find a release botton like my other and older Toyota cars. So, how do you guys change the wipers? Thanks a lot.

The easiest way to remove the wiper is to grab the very end of the insert and pull it down so it falls below the end tab., then slide it out. It's a little more challenging on the driver side since you can't flip the blade. So it's better to keep it low to the windshield. I put a cloth underneath to avoid scratching the windshield. Another thing, slide the slimmest end of the insert in first so the wider end is closest to you. I find it easier to remove that way because there's more to grab and it won't get caught in the things that hold the wiper in place.

Yes, correct. I haven't replaced the whole blade because I never had luck with aftermarket wipers. If it ain't broke...

...I agree...beside the blades are usually cheaper to replace than the whole armature.....in my case I don't only agree with you....I am scare and unsure about any aftermarket items in any car..specially in the RX..I am not that daring..<S>
