Does anyone know the procedure and materials used to replace the front windshield? I believe an appropriate job will eliminate the noise and provide safety.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

If i had came to the board last night I could have written them down for you as I had mine replaced yestreday eve. If i remember correctly, the molding on the pillars have about 3 screws, wipers need to be removed, bottom plastic vents (2) and the retainer on the top windshield that holds the molding in place. be prepared, the price of the molding retainer will surprise you.

 

Unless its damamged or not properly installed i dont really see the need

Those are the parts if you want to replace all the moudlings. You don't necessarily have to. The windshield guy and the person at Lexus told me that I only needed to replace the upper molding I believe (first part # I think).

wow so its about $125 for the windshield and another $37 for the moulding? That sucks.

 

$125 is super cheap for a windshield IMO. The Lexus windshield costs more than $600.
