Default Flaky passenger seat Auto Entry mode?

I searched, but I didn't find this, but if it's been asked before, perhaps somebody could post the link.

I can't remember if this is what it's called, but the passenger seat has an "Auto Entry" mode that moves the seat up when you release the seatback and tilt it forward. If the seat is slid all the way back, it usually won't move up at all. If it's a bit forward of that, it moves up about half way before it stops. Sometimes it doesn't slide rearward when the seatback is locked back into place.

Has anybody had this problem and fixed it?

It's not a problem, that's how the seat operates.. If the seatback is ALL the way back, when the lever is lifted, the seat slides about halfway forwards. When you lock the seatback into position again, the seat WILL NOT move backwards again by default to provide the person who is in the back with some legroom. There is a certain point on the track where if the seat is back of that point when you pull the lever, it WILL NOT slide back at all after you lock the seatback again.. If the seat is already about halfway up the track (above that point on the track) and then you pull the lever, it will slide up a lot. Then when you lock the seat back into place, it will slide back to where it was previously.

Yep, sounds right.

I was having a hard time believing that it was flaky, as it always travels to the same mid-position.

Thanks!

What if it doesnt move back at all? What should I look into then? My passenger seat always moves forward but I cannot recall a single time that it has moved back automatically. when i lock it back into place it just stays where it moved forward to.

Same here, it does the same thing in my 98. My 94 worked perfectly. I too would like to see if there is a fix for this.

I don't think you guys have a problem. Generally it doesn't move backwards. try moving your seat way up on the track, THEN pull the lever. When you pull the lever, the seat should slide WAY forward. Then when you push it back, try and see if it moves back to about halfway on the track. That's the only time when it moves back. If the seat is positioned anywhere behind that midpoint on the track when the lever is pulled, the seat will only move forward to that midpoint and then will not move back at all when the seatback is locked in again.

My passenger seat moves pretty much as described above. However, my driver's seat doesn't move forward at all when you tilt the seatback forward. Should it?

No the driver's side has no automated movement.
