One headlight is brand new, the other is old, can you guess which one is which?
BTW my camera made one light look a slightly different color, but this isn't visible in person... The bulbs are identical...

Sorry, i'm at work now, and will probably put the other light back in tomorrow (sold my old ones)... Though i think it does show how close the two are in performance... (take a guess?)

Has anyone looked inside where the bulb goes in? I just bought a new one off ebay for the drivers side, have not installed yet, but out of curiousity, you can see the _/-- cutoff line in there...wonder what the pre-2002's look like?
My 1995 headlights are a joke, with zero cutoff lines, worthless in oregon rain! can't wait to get this one installed, and have another on the way!
THANKS for this discovery!!!

Installed drivers side today, aparently the passenger side was replaced at some point in the past. Now both lights have a clean cuttoff, verymuch a worthwhile upgrade for those who have the older style lights!!

I was wondering from you guys who are using the HID's, What style bulb you are using in regards to the base type?
I've been using a kits from infinity q45, and i made up some bull***** socket brackets to mount them. How are you guys doing it? Keeping it waterproof and sealed.
What's your source?

I got my recommendation from xenondepot.com for about $400, 4300k. Best thing about it was that the color temp is perfect white/purple but very bright with the new headlight on. I noticed internally that the cutoff inside of the lense is very very slightly, it slopes as a curve then /-- Hard to explain, but there is a difference, that and I'm sure the lens itself is much much better.

Rebase the bulbs huh?
This is done by turning the bulb in a lathe to remove material so that an aluminum bracket will fit the bulb and match the socket? Is this correct?
Not to highjack a thread or change subject, just thought this would be good info for us, along with the recent knowledge of the 99 and newer headlight housings. This is going to be a winter project for me for sure.
