Yea, but my 97's already produced that (perhaps my "original" headlights aren't originals?)

Perhaps you haven't gotten use to them yet (I could be wrong).

What I mean is, when I first put mine in it was hard to tell if they were any brighter until I drove the car at night and passed other cars with bright headlights (like GMC Envoys, and Infiniti G35s) and saw my headlight beam eclipse their headlight output while I am passing them (something I could not do with my old headlights even with HIDs)

Possibly, and I'd really like that to be the case. We'll see. My roommate to be has a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe, once he gets down here from cleveland we'll have to compare....

One thing i would like to do is get pure white HID's (no blue, no purple, nothing but pure white light (4300K) That way the only blue / purple you see is from the lense flare. You get the best light output that way anyway. I may return my Osrams for Philips 4300K's -=nathan

That's what I have now. I just replaced my bulbs with 4300k bulbs. The blue hue at the cutoff isn't as noticable but my light output has gone even further up.

After many many many many many hours of driving around the block and coming home and adjusting and driving around the block again and so on and so on this is what I have found to be the best position for you to adjust your headlight beams to get the BEST output, most coverage, sharpest cutoff line, greatest distance, and least glare. Some of you may have already have known this though.

Cobra, are you saying that with your original 97 headlights you didn't experience a blue cutoff line? (because i certainly did...)

I had NO blue cutoff line with my old headlights that came in my 97 SC... I was using 6000k bulb too. look at the pictures on the first page, was your blue cutoffline that intense (probably not because of your lower kelvan bulbs)...hmmmm

Your headlights may have been replaced already like you said.... if so, that sux....

I would try the G35 driveby test when you get a chance...

If you find that they have been changed, you might be able to sell your old ones to a member on here looking to get that effect..

Well if you had no blue cutoff, that settles it right there, because my blue cutoff is almost the same. It is weird that my beam pattern does go farther. There are also these tiny little circles i see in front of the projectors on the plastic lense cover, those aren't on my 97's. So maybe these are the latest revision, and the ones that were in my 97 were the second latest? In any case, i'll probably restore my old ones, and sell them like you said... Oh well...

I also drove for a bit with one new and one old, and there was next to no difference on the road as to which was the new and which was the old (as far as brightness goes)...

How many miles are on your SC? I'm assuming you are not the original owner. I suppose it is also possible that your headlights were at some point swapped with pre 97 headlights, since in the right conditions they can get ugly pretty fast. Also, are you sure about Lexus using new projectors in assemblies made after 2002?

I knew who owned my car before me and he purchased it new from a Houston Lexus dealership. He was 76 years old and hardly every drove the car and never wrecked it. So I'm asuming that they were the original headlights.

I was transfered to a Lexus customer service dept in New York when I called to find out about the headlights. They said that there was a projector part change in all SC300/400 headslights that are currently being manufactured. He said that this change took effect in 2002.

Dunno then, mine must have been replaced or something prior, because the difference certainly isn't anything close to what you have experienced Oh well... Thanks a lot for your input!!! -=nathan
