Default Window Tints

I just went to a local auto shop to get 20% tints all around. The problem is I already have tints on my rear windows that are faded and look purplish now. So, that means they have to remove the originals first which will remove the defroster lining and there's no way I can sacrifice that for some shade. We tried sampling a tint over the original, in hopes that it will cover up the faded purple but what ended happening was it created a dark purple blend. OY! Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can go about this? I desperately want the tints but not at the expense of my defrosters. Any "advanced" shops that can remove the original tints without removing the lining?

A good tint place will have a steamer that makes it possible to remove tint while not hurting the rear defroster...

I know becuase I watched it be done three days ago

Talking A good tint place

I had that exact problem. I went to D & D in Arlington Texas. They removed all of my old tint and did not hurt my defrost lines on the rear window. A good shop can do this. Call a number of places and ask that question. I did and found a place that was able to do the job. They charged me $209.00 and the result is great.
