First, yes I did a search and found some stuff, but no pics. My heater doesnt work, but AC and cold air works fine. So I filled the coolant level up, as I heard that if it is low, the heat won't come on. But I am pretty sure it still doesnt work. So I also heard there are two hoses that can be alternated (vaccuum hoses) near the passenger firewall. DOES ANYONE HAVE PICS OF THESE HOSES, and has anyone tried this to avail success? thanks guys

the heater control valve solenoid is a tiny unit located on the passenger side of the engine bay near the back.

you can probably get one from Gazi (aliga) here on the forums, he sold me one a while back, worked like a charm since.

 

how do i know if it is the heater control solenoid? and not something else? are you supposed to hear the valve open when you switch from cold to hot? also i have heard of some people switching hoses

 

I have the same problem, local Lexus Dealer said it is the computer in the dash and wanted $400 to replace. Since I am in AZ I really don't need heat that much so when I do I move the vacume hoses. See attached Pic.

 

If you reverse ths vacuum lines and you get heat, then it is actually the solenoid controlling the Heater control valve that is failing. I have a mechanic as a buddy and he was able to replace the solenoid for $25.00 and the whole system now works perfectly.
If you reverse the vacuum lines and you do not get heat, then it is probalby the Heater control valve itsself.

The first Hinge that they sent was bent. I called and they asked did I want my money back or another hinge. I opted for the hinge and it is now on my SC400 and works perfectly.

 

I just removed the damn thing.

 

I had the same problem with my car. A/C blew ice cold but no heat.

I look at the picture and removed the hose as indicted. I then move the other hose and plugged to my heater control valve. Problem solved!

Now I've got heater in my car. The problem is, the original hose from the heater control valve (the hose that was originally plugged on to the circular unit) is now hanging around untouched.

What gives?....
