about how much does it cost to do a 1jz swap with what parts are needed and can you use a 2jz 5sp tranny
i really have been wanting to do that swap

complete engine,transmission(auto), uncut harness, ecu, map sensor, ignitor, engine accessories,side mount intercooler and piping and air box
= $1200 from jhotexports.com
(2)_spools of 18g wires = $20 radio shack
solder & heat shrink = $15 Radio shack
walbro fuel pump = $99 xatracing.com
supra throttle cable = $45 toyota dealer
radiator hose (upper) = $12 DAP
engine oil tranny oil coolant = $30 DAP
Total: $1,421 <------ you cant beat that !!!

Just face it, nobody bothers to search anymore or even look at anything anymore. It is way easier to just ask and receive. Our section is going more downhill everyday at a faster and faster pace.

maybe there should be a 1jz-gte sub forum. It would be somewhat usefull. Stiky's for swap info. Wiring info an so on. Specific questions about the swap, and parts the cross reference to american part numbers for replacing stuff. Just a thought. the swap is getting popular. I'll be doing it in July. It can't be anywhere near as hard as RB20DETs into 240sxs..and i've done 5 of those....but it helps when you don't have to seach a forum that deals with 3 or 4 different engines and trannies.

 

I'm not hating. I am scared that it will get way too common like the SR20. The cops will be catching on VERY soon, trust me. That means problems for us. I had to get rid of my 240 because of that reason.
