We are thinking about putting a NOS system on the SC and was wondering where other people have their button located?
Thanks

Depending on which NOS set up you're going with....there are some kits that will only activate the nitrous when the pedal is @ WOT. This is a nice safety mechanism as I have witness first hand what happens to a motor when someone accidently hits the button while trying to start their car! Not a pretty site.
Well use the micro switch to activate at WOT. Put the arming switch some place out of the way, yet still easy to get at. Inside the ashtray looks like a good spot. Also you need to know if you are going to have anymore switches (i.e. remote bottle valves, heaters) if so make sure you have room for them to.
Let us know how it works out.

On our shop car we flipped the cruise control stalk to the other side of the steering wheel and used that as the activation switch. Easy to use without taking any hands off the wheel.
For maximum safety, activation switches should be wired in series with the arming and full throttle switches so that all 3 must be closed to activate the system.

You have several options for switch locations.
You really need 3 switches to be completely safe.
1. Arming switch to supply power
2. WOT switch to prevent the system from functioning during normal driving, and
3. The trigger button so you can manually turn it on an off.
I personally like to use the rear defroster switch for the arming switch. Since I have window tint and never use the rear defroster. I just run a relay and disconnect the defroster itself. The defroster is the "power on/off switch"
The WOT switch is either in the engine compartment on the throttle body, or on the gas pedal on the inside of the cabin so its circuit is closed when the pedal is depressed 100%. This switch normally comes w/ the NOS kit.
For automatics, I like to use the O/D switch to trigger the system. I don't disconnect the o/d switch, I merely use a relay and the switch triggers the relay which powers the NOS. This keeps everything looking stock w/o having to drill into the car for "el cheapo" toggle switches or push button switches. Plus your hand natrually goes on the gear selector.
Hope this helps- I just hate cutting up my car, and I like to keep things hidden. I once had some fun with a rental car and used the horn as the trigger. Long story, but fun to see a lil Budget rental car screaming down the road with its horn blaring. You should have seen the look of the people around me. Next time, I'll actually disconnect the horn; but some how the noise of the horn just made me laugh even harder.
