i kno there is one other person that has a full cage - and i believe his was custom made

mine is a cusco 4-point and me and my friend bolted it down.....so basically if i wanted to race, i won't be able to since it's not welded on

not a problem Scott. My cage is an 8pt (6pt with 2 kicker bars)
Mine was made by a buddy who does custom cages here locally in IL.

wired!!! since you already have back seats out and all rear panels, and roll cage in, why you still have the 75 pounds seats in the car?? You could save some major weights from there..
I did the samething to my 240sx, and weight saving does make diffrence in term of acceleration...

You have to put the seats in while installing the cage to make sure there is no fitment issues with the seats as well as your head with the main hoop. There are no panels in there because we weren't finished with welding

I'm pretty aware of the advantages of weight savings. Those seats come out at the track , and a single race seat will go in. I like my comfort on the street.

cool!!!
I have supra seats put in while ago... big improvement as the stock seats other than losing the memory function... well, I am happy with that. I don't use mine sc for race tho..., I use my 240 to go the track

Chris, those roll cages look sick, i want one made for my car too. Can you ask your friend how much he'll charge me and what exactly i need to do on my part.
I guess your friends shop is LRT Racing INC, Chassis Works?

Slider,
Thanks man! You should be able to find a good chassis person out by you, just talk to some local shops and see who they use. An average price for a cage is $100 per point + some materials..
It would be much easier than carting the car out here for the cage

Mainly just find out how much they charge for each point to be welded. The material itself isn't all that expensive. However, I would also suggest you go with Chromoly instead of mild steal, just a bit lighter. Also, the diameter of the tubing could be important if you plan on competing in sanctioned events.

Hope that helps
