Default wheel lock key

hope i don't get flamed for this.

but i want to rotate my tires, but the 2 rear tires both have special locks on them and sadly i dont' have the key. is there a special key that can mold to these patterns and take them off (if so where can i get them)? or is there like a special key somewhere on the car hidden? are all the lexus keys the same? i need to get these tires rotated and dont want to go to a shop.

or any other method?

can anyone help me out?

search the car first.... check the little tool bag in the trunk, under the carpet. thats where i found mine. if that doesnt work, the dealer should have a master set with one that should fit. you would probably have to let them rotate the tires though, as they probably wont give/sell you a lock key. at least thats the way it was when i worked for BMW. just my 2 cents.

if your wheel locks are aftermarket, the dealership wont have the master key for it.. if anything you can take your car to a tire shop and they have a removal tool and would charge you a couple of bucks to remove your locks

I'm gald you found your wheel lock key. Just for the record, depending on what type of locks you have it still can be removed with a regular socket. I know for a fact you can remove the stock Lexus McGuard ones without the key and with a simple socket. Honda/Acura aslo uses the same type (Smooth on the outside with the key pattern on the inside of the head). I lost my key before and I ended up just removing the lock lug using a regular socket and breaker bar. Took all but 10 extra seconds vs if you actually used the key. I use the locks as a visual deterant, but I really don't expect them to save my wheels from getting stolen. In other words, I wouldn't be surprinsed if someone did steal the rims even with the locks on. So just be careful and don't have a false sense of security.
