Question hummming noise?

when i accelerate, ive noticed this before but it seemed to disspear but it has reaapeared, the car makes a humming noise, sort of like a jet, if that makes any sense. what could this noise be? i think ive searched this before and it has to do with the power steering pump or alternator?

What you're describing sounds like when my transmission was going. I have Supra TT auto transmission but I would imagine it would sound the same because they're almost the same.

If you need a transmission let me know. I still have my stock SC300 automatic transmission (and torque convertor, and driveshaft, and some misc parts off the engine) left over after the swap. I'm willing to let it go for cheap.

Overfilled, underfilled, fuild brakedown, broken traction control, harsh driving, etc etc. Lots of reasons.

The rule of thumb is, "accelerate = tranny" "decelerate = center bearing"

2 engine mounts and 1 tranny mount, check 'em and replace 'em. The tranny mount is the easiest and only costs like $50 from Carson Toyota. I'd replace that one first and see if it eliminates the clunking.

Doubtful it's a mount. You would feel a vibration at high speeds from un-even driveshaft. If the humming more of a scratching sound?

Funny you say that. When I first heard the noise I thought it was a boost leak because it does sound like a whistle a little. Hopefully it's not it.
