Default Will this work on my SC?

Will this work on my 95 SC300? I did this without disconnecting the top hose on both ends (like it is shown in the bottom picture) and The check engine light didn't go away. I think I will disconnect the hose now, but it is a bit different from a supra - it splits into 2 on one end. Is it a safe thing to do?

Also, on my SC300 the female and male connectors on the EGR channel (where you supposed to put the resistor) are switched. Maybe it didn't work because I put in the resistor in the female side like shown and it (on our cars unlike supras) goes to EGR gas temperature sensor instead? HELP!

The main thing is I do not want to damage the car.

I didn't, my check engine came on and it was code 71 - EGR malfunction. This wouldn't fix it?

If you didn't mod anything then you should probably reolace the egr valve, clear the coder and see what happens. It looks like that is after you clear the code to stop it popping up again.

I plan to clean out my EGR system this weekend and replace the EGR gasket. I've read that this should be the fix for code 71 on our cars. Well, so I hope...this stumbling and missing crap is bugging the hell out of me everytime I drive!! The car bogs down for a sec, or sputters or hesitates slightly. Supposedly the problem is a clogged EGR valve or a bad gasket.
