Hello, i own a 93 sc400 with 109,000 miles on it. my question is when i drive in the city it grabs really bad on say a crack or bump, it swerves harsh, just takes the wheel. Is this my lower control arm bushing worn out? I know new ones are $395.00 each side anything else out there to fix it if that is indeed it. Thanks
I thought daizen bushings were around 250. It could be your shocks that are blown out. Do you mean they are making a popping noise when you go over bumps?
Its called tram-lining. Something like that at least... You can get the Daizen's which are a good performance upgrade, but you have to grease them every few months and you wont have the stock ride. I think you can get the Vlamos(vftbushes.com) bushings for 4-500 and you get front upper and lower. Only problem is that he's in Australia which makes shipping slower, but they are supposed to be the closest to stock you can get.

You really don't have to grease them every few months. They normally go 40-50,000+ miles without needing servicing, maybe more.
Why don't they ride like stock? We have installed over 100 sets and people can't tell the difference from a new arm.
Where do you people get this (mis)information from anyways???

I got it from someone else who installed them. He said there was an annoying squeak that he couldnt live with and he had to re-grease them after a while. Guess he wasnt doing it properly.
Someone a while back did the install of newer front/lower control arm bushings in a 92 or 93. The fit was perfect.
Toyota part numbers front bush-48654-24040, need two; and back bush-48655-24050, need two.
All four bushings are around $160.
If the Stopper washer is missing in the front bushing area, part number is 48657-24020.
If your lower ball joint is worn, then a new control arm is needed.
Also, check the rubber bushings holding the steering rack for wear.

Yes, improper installation once again. Sure amazing when hundreds can have no problems with something, and then all of a sudden a product is so bad because you "heard" about some "problem".
You are doing a great disservice to this site when posting that type of second hand information, especially when you have no actual conclusion.
