Vj sounds ok.

If you need to know the cheap air filters like the one I bought and you contemplate in buying can actually cause premature engine wear. I spoke to a buddy of mine and some cars are showing up at his shop with scratched cylinders...mostly hondas but due to cheap air filters. I will use my K&N with my modded airflow meter housing (more to come on that) on a daily basis and the all metal filter/yellow housing combo for looks.

Also in the picture I have pointed the next thing I'll do, which is to eliminate the intake muffler pipe for a custom made one. HKS offers the cheaply priced all silicone hoses and the aluminum pipes are readily available everywhere. I opted for a carbon/glass fiber tube which I made. The fiber tube will be much more insulated than commonly used aluminum pipes, this will keep the air cooler and denser.

notice the strut bar!!!

Mind is correct... As I said to you, before, K&N filters had been around a long time...and have a great history... Go for it... I've heard about apex filters too, on the www.mkiv.com that had the "new" apex filter winning an air flow war..... check out www.apexi.com too...

Dry filter, I don't think would last as long as an oiled one, but for the perf.(if it is truly better) the few $$$ would not make a difference....

Default thanks

thanks for the recommendation. in the list i have posted, is the weapon R series and dragon series made by K&N? I cant seem to find any info that will help me, im looking to buy onlin e to save money obviously, cuz performance stores are expensive as hell. Id rather spend the extra money and not get a cheap filter however so if you guys know any retailers, that'd be appreciated. Also, will any K&N cone filter work with my adapter plate that Im buying?

Mind....where did ya get the strut bar from? is it motorsportwarehouse? mind saying how much? thanks

Auto Zone... Pep boys... just take your adapter with you and fit the filter to the plate..... I bought the K&N #RU-2520 to fit the adapter I have... $32.00+-...

I got mine from a custom shop in the Jackson, MS area called Wynne Speed... believe it or not it was cheaper than Autozone or the internet... (the other parts are typically higher in that shop..) It pays to shop around....

However, the prices are only a few $$$ difference in the price... go for it....

Mind, Where did you get the air filter adapter. I've been looking, but no luck. Also, how much was the strut brace, do you how if there is anything out there for a SC400 that's one solid piece. Thanks

PlayBoy,

You're basically paying the higher price for a type of ECU(for the air fuel ratio) with the intake.....

I think they only offer it with the '97 - '00 model SC4... Just contact them to be sure...

MrKophee,

There are many places selling the adaptor plate. Buy one for a Twinturbo Supra if you can't get one for the SC400...then enlarge the bolt holes in order to fit it to the housing. You might have to port match the gasket but they are very close. Hope this helps. That is what I did.

I know that now adaptor are sold for the Sc400 but remember I got mine about 3 years ago...crap I'm getting old.

For the strut bar I recomend the cusco one but will have to be ordered from Japan for a soarer I just found a page that has a front and rear strut bar from cusco for the soarer...I will get the rear from them.
