There are two screws rolling around in my overhead map light housing. I need to take the assembly apart to get the screws out but don't know where to start. Does anyone know how to remove the assembly without damaging it?

first you need to take out the glass (plastic)
thin flat screwdriver and just pry it out but try not to push on beige plastic too hard or it will leave a mark

I've read your long winded suspension posts on these forums and wasn't impressed. Really, if you can't provide any help take your attitude elsewhere.

I gave you the best help you could get, "search" will give you much more info than lazily posting your repetitive question here. Please learn some manners...it's not the best thing to insult older members. But then again, your knowledge and judgement can't be too good if you're asking how to remove a simple piece of plastic...good luck dealing with your "loose screws"....

here is a pic with points where it snaps in, that's where you need to be working that screwdriver, note the two marks on top are left by me not being cautios

and the rest is held on to the roof from inside, those screws that you have rolling inside are probably the mounting screws and need to be put back in

Guys let's keep this on topic and stop with the arguing back and forth please.

Search first is definitely always a good idea, but it's even better if the older members show the new guys how to use it and point them to the keywords / links they used to find the answer to their question

For example:

Map light remove
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...p+light+remove

remove roof
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=remove+roof

I don't think there are all that many threads out there on this topic.

Right on point, as usual

No, the only section that illuminates is the semi-clear plastic center cover. It houses 3 lights, one "map light" and 2 "personal lights"...if you press the buttons and those lights don't come on then you just need to buy new bulbs...super easy to replace and all 3 bulbs should cost less than $7

I pulled those bulbs out and it is like no bulb I've ever seen before. A very round, weird, bulbous shape to those reading light bulbs. Anyone know the part numbers for these bulbs?

Just remove the bulbs and take them inside an auto parts store and match them up, it should take you no longer than 5 minutes (Pep Boys, Kragen, Napa, etc.). The bulbs are very common and should cost no more than $6 total. The thing you need to look for is the voltage rating, I believe the bulbs are rated at 12 volts, don't skip this step as it's very important.
