Last weekend I let my younger cousin drive my car and we were out playing in some twisty roads. After awhile we got to doing some power slides/ drifting. I hesitate to call it drifting b/c I'm sure it wasn't quite up to par, but none the less, side ways.
Anyhoo, as we were exiting the very last corner of the road we hit some gravel that we didn't see and things started to get out of hand. Once the big coupe started to swing back and forth with the stock suspension there was very little we could do and then bam! Reflector pole. Of coase I was a little mad but my cosine instantly offered to pay for everything so I let it go.
Luckly he didn't hit the rear lens and only managed to rip a little piece of the molding. I'm sure most of us know there is nothing behind that section of the body except the CD changer and it didn't even come clost to hitting it. Even if it did, the changer dosnt' work anyways.
way less than the cost to fix it. I havn't had the time to get a estimate, but from previous experiences and the fact that its a custom color I'm planning on at least $1000-1500
i guess no more drifting, T. Ueno err i mean Sorry about that, a good body shop can probably pull it out and bondo it for less then a $1G. goodluck on everything
you know what you should do now so it wont look as bad,(what i did at least) when i got hit in the 1/4 panel, i took out the lining CD changer,AMP etc... on the pass. side in the trunk and kicked out most of the dent it looks like you can do it too. it wont look like much when they fix it
it was quite a largess impact then i kicked it out thats all that was affected, maybe you should try it it does sound stupid but it works.
p.s. if you cant fit in the trunk get your Cuz to do it.
I wonder how they are going to fix that, the sc is a unibody shell and with all those bumps how are they going to smoothen that out properly.. My right rear quarter panel is also dented, I feel ur pain. Hope everything turns out good. Make sure you find a good paint shop, you don't want your car having different shades of blue.
