Default SC300 Engine Light Doesn't Come On

My SC300 didn't pass smog check because the engine light didn't come on for a few seconds when the ignition key was turned. I have checked the bulb and it seems to be OK. Even replaced it with another one. Does anyone know if there is a fuse for the engine light? How can I troubleshoot the wiring? Which wire(s) going to the instrument panel is for the engine light?

Thanks.

No, the light didn't come on when I turned the key to the on position. The problem was a loose ribbon cable in instrument panel's circuit board.

Thanks.
