Default New SC guy

Hey I just bought a SC300 and it seems ALOT slower than my LS400. When I floor the car it just seems to take its time. The car has had a tune-up just performed before I bought it. I'm pretty sure SC300's are almost the same if not faster than my LS400... there just seems a world of difference between the two. What do you guys suggest I should do? Clean the throttle body? If so, is there a DIY for a SC300?

Reset ECU and then drive like a maniac....Your fuel efficiency will go down but your car will feel a lot faster...

I get around 200miles to the tank....Thats horrible gas mileage, but I get to places a lot quicker....

Is your sc300 a 5spd or auto? From what I heard the auto are slow so if you have a auto, then maybe that's the reason why. If you have a manual, then maybe you just don't know how to drive!! j/k
Since the LS400 is a V8, it has more torque so it should feel faster, but in reality, it might not be.

LS400 is supposedly not much heavier than an SC400, so it should feel faster than an SC3.

The SC is an auto. My LS is a 94, which means it has atleast 250 hp/ 260 tq (I've done some stuff to it so I dont know exactly). So my main question is... can 25 hp make SUCH a HUGEEEEEE difference in the cars?? The SC seems so sluggish when I gun it from 70. The LS power just never stops coming... I floor it on 70 and in 2/3 mere seconds I'm well over 100. Come on SC guys whats your secret to making your cars fast? I'm not going to turbo it till I find out why its running so sluggishly.

A dirty Throttle body should not make a huge difference in power. If your car really is so much slower than your LS I would look elsewhere. I can't imagine a dirty throttle body taking away any more than a few horse power.

There are lots of things to look at. But first thing I would do is perform a compression test, and work from there.

No..but 50 ft/lb of torque can . Also, for cleaning the throttle body, you're gonna have to take it out. Unless you want to half-*** it and remove the air intake pipe and try to clean some of it.
