Hi there! I wonder what kind of oil consumption you gentelmen getting out of your 4liter motors.
Toyota consumption levels are very liberal, up to 1.5 qt per 1k miles or so. Which sound crazy but hey they builded it.
Owners manual make people aware of oil consumption but doesn`t give actual numbers.

I`m getting 0.3 qt per 1k miles with 15W-50 Mobil1, car is `92, and has 91k miles on it.

If you are ready to play, to keep things organized please state consumption per 1k miles, type and viscosity of oil, milage and age of the vehicle. Thanx.

 

93 SC400 with 130,000 original miles, around 1 quart of Mobil 1 5W-30 every 3,000 miles.

96 SC 400 82,000 miles. Doesn't use any oil that I can tell. Still on full before every oil change. Mobil1 5w-30

I have a 92 SC400 with 107,xxx miles and never added a drop of oil. I chech it regularly and it is never down. Using 5W-30 since new.

 

during hard hard driving .5qt's /3000.

regular driving nothing.

 

I've only had to start adding oil after I switched to synthetic (~60,000 miles). Before on dino, my oil level never fell low enough to trip a meter.

maybe 0.33 qt oil / 1000 miles but probably not even that much.

60,000 miles on the clock, but there's no way I believe it.
usually 1/3 qt per 1000 miles.
Motul 10W40 4100 Turbolight (I think it's semi synthetic... or something)

I think a lot of my usage is dripping out the rear main seal.
