Synthetic Oil?
Yeah it's fine but you only have 1000 miles your better just waiting tell you hit 3k and then change it out. It's honestly a waste but if you want, then yes there is no problem doing that.
Oil should be changed at 1000 miles from new, then 10,000 or 12 months (whichever is soonest) thereafter - even 3,000 miles on a true synthetic is wasteful.
If you really want to know when it's time to change, have an oil analysis done ($30 probably) at 5-6,000 miles, which will tell you how much reserve capacity remains to soak up the acidic byproducts of the combustion process.
If you opt for oil made from POA or Ester base, then you should have no problem running 10,000 miles, assuming your journeys aren't short hops where the fluids barely reach nominal temperatures.

My journey for the most part is a 700miles round trip from MA to Montreal at least once a month.
The manual recommend 5W-30 type oil. Is this what everyone is using? On my last Acura TL, I put in Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-20. So planning on using Mobile 1 synthetic.
