Default Center Console 12V Extension Cable for '10 RX

Finally picked up the 12V extension cable at the dealer today after several months. It's for '10 RXs built primarily before January/February 2010. Later '10 RXs had it included. Bulletin is L-SB-0043-10, part number PT545-48101, so go get yours if you don't have it already. Free stuff is fun

The build date on my 2010 RX 350 was April, 2010, but I didn't get one of those extension cables included with the car. Maybe 'cause it's a Canadian-market RX?

And Lexus dealers here in Canada are months (years?) behind on Lexus TSBs, so they won't know anything about the "free cable" TSB.

I want to know if it is possible to retrofit the 12v outlet uner the shift gear like the 11 RX had...

I'm sure it's possible. You would have to find a power source and order the panel with the outlet. I can tell you from my experience with the console you would have to take the entire console apart to get to that panel it does not snap out from the front.

Good Luck

It'll require some work, drilling a hole, and rerouting the power.

I would love to see someone knock out the install on the outlet under the shift gear. I installed DVD headrests and didn't want to cut into any wires so I put wires through the center console. Would be nice to route those to the front cubby and have them out of sight.

Default 12V Extension Cable for RX 10

I rec'd mine after I called the dealership to complain about the lack of a 12V outlet in the front. The parts manager told me to come in the next day and he would have one for me. It's still inconvenient but better than nothing for the horrible design.
