Default auto daytime and night time navigation screen mode

right now it doesn't chance background shade when at night time, it always stays white.

does anyone know how to change so that it automatically changes to black when in night time ?

I believe you have to switch your headlights into AUTO mode. The day/night sequence is linked to your headlight activation.

Default Night Mode

I believe if you have your dimmer switch all the way up. All of your lights go full bright. Navigation and dash.

This is exactly the issue... if the dimmer switch (located on the front left of the steering wheel) is all the way up it will not dim the NAVI and dash at night... turn it down a bit and your issue will be resolved

You have to (1) have the headlight switch to Auto and then you also need to ensure that the dimmer switch is not locked in place. When you use the dimmer switch to adjust the brightness of your guages, as you turn it towards the brightest setting it will click into place. Leave the dial just before it clicks. This will give you full brightness during the day, and also allow the screen (and dash lights) to adjust when the headlights come on at night time.

the auto switch on the headlights has nothing to do with it.... it's the interior lights dimming switch. you prob have it all the way. turn it down over that one notch, or lower, and the screen will goto night mode whenever you turn on the headlights, or they are auto turned on via the auto headlight switch

I remember seeing one of the settings within the Navigator onscreen menu that allows it to remain as 'daytime' (white background), even at night.

That's how I set mine up. So now it remains as white background at night, but it still dims when lights are on, and the sensor detects that it's dark outside.

I didn't like the black background for the nav as it was hard to read at night.

cheers

How does one turn down the interior lights? I would like my navigation screen dimmer at night. It is blinding.
