You mean you don't know where the manual latch is? It's right in the middle, just below the Lexus emblem just above the license plate. Just press your hand in there and push up and lift the hatch.

If you mean you can't get it to open manually with the latch, I can't offer any help. Probably need the dealer if that is the case.

I mean like... other than that, how can I get it open? Because I got a new battery awhile ago and the power door for the rear doesn't work. I'm guessing that the black pad uses something related to the power door in order to open it. I don't think it's mechanical. I'm looking for a way to open the trunk that I could still use. =\

Everything you need to know can be found in your Owners Manual. Look in the INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS section, starting at page 34. Has everything from how it operates to what you need to do when you have a problem.

put the back seats down, climb into the trunk are, in the center of the hatch, a few inches up from the bottom you will see a little rectangle, pry that out, and there will be a little latch.

^^ that is correct. Sounds like you might have something jammed or the motor is broken? on the back of the door in the cargo area, there is a felt door that you can pry open with a screw driver, and you should be able to access the latch

I do not know exactly where it is, but I know what you mean. When I was coming over the boarder from Canada on a trip, the customs agent opened the rear passenger door behind the driver's side, and standing outside the car he reached in and was able to pop the rear hatch open. There is some sort of a release somewhere near the rear passenger seat.

I had a similar problem. My problem was that the door would open manually, but not with the key or auto button from inside. There was a button in the glove box that turned the auto controls off. Pressed that, solved my problems.
