That is the icon for Proactive Driving Assist.

Good info, @daryll40 another one you can find in the manual!

I really don't understand why people don't read their owners manual! It would save a lot of repeated questions and answers.

OUCH! I am feeling the lashing! To be fair to myself, this post was originally added onto the more general "questions and concerns" thread, but was broken out as this separate thread by the moderator. I'm trying to quit starting new threads, as I get it that I've sort of become annoying.

That being said, I think the purpose of this forum is for Lexus owners (and aspiring owners) to easily find answers to questions. This is an entirely new vehicle with a 600 page manual that has black and white, hard to really understand, information with even more difficult to understand "stick man" drawings. And there aren't yet many YouTube videos that are beyond "look how nice the new RX is" that get into the specifics of using the new tech. Multiple threads here are actually a good thing, in the beginning of a new car, in my opinion, despite getting spanked for it. OUCH!

Darryl, it’s also important not to hijack other members threads when you have an unrelated question, that takes them off topic from the OPs questions and concerns and why this post was split off.

The ask here is to please check the manual first, you’ve now got the manual pdf to easily search. After that if you can’t find the answer please don’t create multiple threads and posts in other members threads asking the same question. Keep it to one spot here in the correct model forum.

It's not quite as easy as you suggest to differentiate between the need for a new thread and/or if the question is close enough to an existing thread. And the manual, with the "stick men" type presentation, is maddening, "search" function or not. I guess I've been damned when I did (new post) and damned when I did the other (tag onto an existing post). But I hear ya and appreciate you allowing me the latitude that you've allowed.

I get it but you’ve gotta try and appreciate you doing that. The thread this was posted in originally was about 5 specific questions, none of which was related to this question.

Manual isn’t that terrible and it has plenty of pictures illustrating what things are and how they work. Just have to take some time searching and reading, others are finding the answers to your questions by doing that for you.

I love reading the owners manual when I buy a new car. If I find something I don't understand, I'll read it again. That's just me.

I swear Lexus hired the ghost of Leo Tolstoy for the new manuals. Hard to believe they are so freaking long now.

Yup! I do think the new car experience will be better for future buyers once more YouTube videos are available.
