Driving support system question
I've been perusing YouTube videos to learn as much as possible about the new Lexus technology. I found this, that I did not know, that maybe others can use. I am reluctant to start a new thread, because I've been guilty of overdoing that. I believe the Lane Change Assist is part of the Driving Support System, which is the title of this thread. Anyway, I did not understand that the lane change assist only works if you DO NOT fully apply the turn signal, but rather just partially engage and hold the turn signal. I hope that others find this useful. The video uses an NX but I believe it's the same in the RX. On a related note, it's still not clear to me what the little sometimes green/sometimes not green "steering wheel" icon in the driver's speedometer area is. It appears to be related to the Proactive Driving Assist system, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when it's green or not. I did find that if you turn off the Proactive Driving Assist, it stays off (not green). Anyway, here's the Lane Change Assist video:

I always download the manual to my iPad and cell phone. I might read some basics but when I have a question I go to the PDF manual on my ohkne and use the search function and that works about 80% of the time.
Generally reading the manual and driving for a few days is all that the learning curve requires. I got my RX350h two months ago and I just now feel that I am about 95-98% up-to-speed with it. It took me at least a month to even know what I didn't know, because of all the new technology. New to me, at least, from the prior generation RX. Because it's so new, there weren't many YouTube videos either and not many posts by those who got to the new RX before me. Although I realized not too long ago that the 2022 and 2023 NX have the same tech and most of the newer NX videos answer my questions. But I didn't know that at first. I do finally feel that I understand what all of the little dash lights mean, how the Proactive Driving Assistant works, how the Lane Change Assistant works, how the Traffic Jam Assistant works, as well Digital Key (it's good but still not fully de-bugged by Lexus), the Cruise Control, Steering Assist, Lane Nanny, Driver Nanny Cam, Heads Up Display, toggling between AppleCarPlay and the Lexus operating system, etc. Whew! This is the steepest and longest learning curve I've ever experienced. And just maybe the best car I've ever owned, at least during the "new phase". Hopefully, like other Lexi, this will also be durable and trouble free for the long haul. Or at least 3-4 years until I'm ready for another.
