Navigation map orientation
I guess I am the exception on this - I've been "lost" my entire life when driving anyplace other than my home area. Even with Garmin and other devices, my brain somehow manages to override the directions. Having the map rotate to show which direction I'm heading has kept me from getting lost several times.
Still not fixed in 2025450h+.
If I go to radio and back to the map, it resets - what a joke.
And yes, I have carplay, but the zoom is far better in the native map system than google maps, so I prefer that. I only use carplay if I plan a route on my phone, and then hop in the car.
Next step - find out how and where to lodge a complaint.

Ex-military and a life-long geographer. Heading up is an abomination to me. I WANT, (and need), NORTH UP!!!
My fiance owns a '24 NX 350H, and every time I drive it, I have to push that little red arrow to display the map correctly. Lexus blew it with this one. Such a simple software fix. Was researching the purchase of a new GX 550. Not now! I'll keep my GX 470 which displays the map in the correct orientation. Lexus lost a sale...at least until they fix this minor, but annoying "feature".

"The Lexus response, "working as designed," is technically correct. However, Lexus refuses to address that the design is flawed. This is my 4th Lexus RX and I have loved every previous model. I don't usually keep my cars over 3-4 years. I can't wait to dump my 2023. It is one of the worst cars I have even owned. My next ride will be a Ford/Chevy/Dodge/GMC pickup truck.
I prefer the Heading orientation. However, I agree with you. The owner should have a choice of North or Heading setting. Actuakky, I never even bother to look at my 14-inch screen. I am somewhat visially impaired and when I have on my driving glasses, they are the wrong focal length for dash controls (that's why I have HUD).
On my 25 ES300h, the North Up will work, but as soon as it zooms in, such as when turning or when it gets close to a destination, the orientation navigation will change to Heading Up. Switching back to North Up is futile, as it will do the same thing eventually again.
This is a pesky bug and the Lexus dealership just shrugs its shoulders at this. I called the HQ for customer service at Lexus and they claimed they don’t see a single complaint on this. CarPlay works fine wrt navigation orientation, but it is a piece of **** software as well.

This doesn't bother me since I prefer the "Heading" orientation. However, I agree with those who prefer a True North orientation. They should have a choice. That seems like a minor software tweak. The Nav/Infotainment system for my 2023 Lexus Luxury has been a huge disappointment. This is my 4th RX (2007, 2014, 2016 and 2023). It's as if Lexus has abandoned its Customers. They no longer listen, when owners tell them something just isn't Lexus quality. This may be my last Lexus. I can get mediocracy a lot cheaper.
I have a 2025 RX350h. I also hate the map's "heading up" orientation and I want 'north up'. I think Lexus has made some changes in this regards. This is what is on my car: once a trip has started, the navigation map is "heading up", swinging left and right. After I have pushed the compass icon 3 times, the map will become "north up" and stays that way until next left/right turn: about 30 seconds before I will make a turn at an intersection, the map will become "heading up", showing clearly the left/right direction. After the turn, the map will go back to "North up". I think this is great.
i find the integrated lexus nav sucks when there are Y’s in the toad . no guidance usually as to left or right without taking your eyes off the toad to look at a map .
also no verbal announcement when you arrive is crazy not to have .

I own a 2025 NX350h luxury and was horrified to discover that Lexus had eliminated the option of setting North Up as the default setting for the navigation map. My understanding is that prior models of the NX and RX offered that option. Anyone who grew up using paper maps learned that the map should always be North Up and any GPS system I have used also have North Up as the default setting. Given that the average age of NX, RX owners is in their late 50's, you'd think that setting a map to a default North Up would be standard option. Clearly the software designers are much younger. In my opinion, the Heading UP rotating map is very distracting and disorienting while driving, especially to anyone who served in the military. Having an OPTION to set North Up as default should not be a difficult thing to offer - especially since older models used to have that option.
