Default Shutting off car while in Drive

I'm still not used to pushing buttons on the electronic shifter in my new to me 2023 RX350h. Coming from a Subaru with a traditional shifter, I have twice hit the power button to shut off the Lexus while I was still in Drive mode. The vehicle shut down normally with no apparent ill effects. Am I damaging the system in any way by my inadvertent failure to first put it in Park before shutting off power?

Pressing the On/Off button prior to pressing Park is the way to change to the Accessory setting to keep the radio on with the engine stopped.
Be sure to press the On/Off button again with your foot off the Brake to really shut off the entire system or you will run down the battery.

No issue. The vehicle automatically moves to Park if you shut it off in this way.

I always only shut off the car when ready to park. One advantage of electronic shifter. It shifts car into park and applies parking brakes

Pressing the On/Off button prior to putting the car in Park does not engage the Accessory mode, thus running down the battery. It's just a shortcut that automatically puts the car in Park and engages the parking brake. That's all I ever use. I never actually push the Park button.

I did this yesterday by accident, when I tried to start the car nothing happened. I tried putting the car into neutral but initially that didn't help. After many attempts, eventually the car started but I don't know what I did or what happed? Any suggestions?
